It was released in Japan in 1991 and in North America and Europe in 1992, being a launch title in Europe. It was included on the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom released in Japan in October 2017 and was initially re-released worldwide on the Nintendo Classics service in September 2019, but was removed worldwide on March 28, 2025.
