Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire was the last game in the series to be released on PC in the United States until Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI. This was also the last Romance of the Three Kingdoms game to be released on the Super NES.

source: wikipedia_ja『三國志IV』（さんごくし・フォー）は、1994年2月13日に日本の光栄から発売されたPC-9801用歴史シミュレーションゲーム。 同社の『三國志シリーズ』第4作目。前作『三國志III』（1992年）と同様に中国の三国時代の群雄の一人となり、古代中国の主要都市の完全制覇を目指すことを目的としている。前作よりもコマンドが簡略化されている点や、各武将に特殊技能が付与された点などを特徴としている。 開発は光栄が行い、プロデューサーはシブサワ・コウ、音楽は作曲家の長生淳および久保田邦夫が担当している。 PC-9801以外のパソコン機種としてFM TOWNSに移植された他、スーパーファミコン、3DO、セガサターン、PlayStationなど様々な家庭用ゲーム機に移植された。Windows版は9x系OS (95,98,Me) には対応しているが、NT系OS (NT,2000,XP,Vista) には対応していない。スーパーファミコン版はバーチャルコンソール対応ソフトとして、2007年にWii、2013年にWii Uにてそれぞれ配信された。 ゲームボーイアドバンス用ソフト『三國志』（2001年）や、ニンテンドーDS用ソフト『三國志DS2』（2007年）も、タイトルは異なるが本作がベースとなっている。
