source: wikipedia_enSimCity 2000 is a city-building simulation video game jointly developed by Will Wright and Fred Haslam of Maxis. It is the successor to SimCity Classic (1989) and was released for Apple Macintosh and MS-DOS personal computers in 1993, after which it was released on many other platforms over the following years, such as the Sega Saturn and SNES game consoles in 1995 and the PlayStation in 1996. SimCity 2000 is played from an isometric perspective as opposed to the previous title, which was played from a top-down perspective. The objective of the game is to create a city, develop residential and industrial areas, build infrastructure such as power and water facilities and collect taxes for further development of the city. Importance is put on increasing the standard of living of the population, maintaining a balance between the different sectors, and monitoring the region's environmental situation to prevent the settlement from declining and going bankrupt, as extreme deficit spending gets a game over. source: wikipedia_ja『シムシティ2000』（SimCity 2000）は、1994年にマクシスから発売された都市経営シミュレーションゲーム。シムシティシリーズの第2作である。 前作のゲーム画面は真上からの見下ろし視点であったが、本作では街を斜め上から見た視点となり、立体的となった。新たにゲームに取り入れた概念として水道、教育、健康、条例などがある。設置できる施設が大幅に増加し (例えば発電所が2種類から9種類)、標高の概念が取り入れられたことにより、起伏のある都市開発ができるようになった。アルコロジーと呼ばれる、数万人が居住できる未来的な居住施設などが登場するのが特徴。街が大きくなるとアルコロジーを宇宙に発射できるようになる。パーソナルコンピュータ向け以外の家庭用ゲーム機移植版ではハードウェアの事情などにより各バージョンにオリジナルの建物があるなど、一部仕様が追加・改変されている。
