An entry in the Bomberman franchise, it is a reimagining of the first game in the series. The game was later ported to home computers, each one featuring changes compared to the original version. Conversions for other platforms were in development but never released. The game garnered positive reception from critics since its initial release on the TurboGrafx-16 and later on home computers. Bomberman is considered the first video game with last man standing or battle royale gameplay.

source: wikipedia_ja『ボンバーマン』（BOMBER MAN）は、1990年12月7日に日本のハドソンから発売されたPCエンジン用アクションゲーム。『ボンバーマンシリーズ』第4作目、そしてPCエンジンのボンバーマンシリーズ第一作目。 PCエンジン主人公の「ホワイトボンバーマン」を操作し、悪の心を持った「ブラックボンバーマン」に攫われた三森博士の娘である理沙を救出する事を目的としたゲーム。開発はハドソンが行い、ディレクターは藤原茂樹、ゲーム・デザインは後に『ボンバーマン'93』（1992年）を手掛ける事となる桑原司、音楽はファミコン版と同様に竹間ジュンが担当している。 また、本作はシリーズで初めてプレイヤー5人での対戦が可能になった作品として知られている。過去の3作品では不定であったキャラクターデザインや世界観を一新し、後のシリーズに近いコミカルで可愛らしいものへと変更になったタイトルである。また、バトルゲームの提案を始めシリーズの発展に大きな貢献をし、後にシリーズプロデューサーを務めた藤原が初めて関わったシリーズタイトルでもある。 日本国外では、Amiga、Atari ST、PC/AT互換機において『Dyna Blaster』のタイトルで発売された。
