The series originated as an arcade video game simply titled TwinBee in 1985, followed by several home versions and sequels. The character designs of almost every game in the series since Detana!! TwinBee in 1991 were provided by Japanese animator Shuzilow HA (Jujiro Hamakawa), who also planned and supervised most of the subsequent installments in the TwinBee series. The series also inspired a radio drama adaptation that lasted three seasons in Japan, as well as an anime adaptation.

source: wikipedia_ja『ツインビーだ!!』（TwinBee-DA!）は、1990年10月12日に日本のコナミから発売されたゲームボーイ用縦スクロールシューティングゲーム。日本国外では『Pop'n TwinBee』のタイトルで発売された。 同社の『ツインビーシリーズ』第4作目。自機であるツインビーおよびウインビーを操作し、シナモン博士のライバルであるDr.ニッキを倒すためにプカプカ島を目指すというストーリー。基本的なゲームシステムは第1作目である『ツインビー』（1985年）を踏襲している。また、通信ケーブル使用により2人同時プレイが可能となっている。 開発はコナミ開発三部が行い、ゲーム・デザインはファミリーコンピュータ用ソフト『ツインビー3 ポコポコ大魔王』（1989年）にてキャラクター・デザインを手掛けた小玉紀年、音楽はゲームボーイ用ソフト『ドラキュラ伝説』（1989年）を手掛けた福武茂が担当している。 後に『コナミGBコレクション Vol.2』（1997年）に収録された他、PlayStation Portable用ソフト『ツインビー ポータブル』（2007年）にリメイク版が収録された。2012年にはニンテンドー3DS用のバーチャルコンソール対応ソフトとしてゲームボーイ版が配信された。 以下、特に断り書きがない限りオリジナルであるゲームボーイ版について解説する。

Es el cuarto título de la serie TwinBee, tras TwinBee 3 para Famicom, siendo además la única entrega de la serie para Game Boy. Pese al título europeo, la versión japonesa es tres años anterior al lanzamiento de la versión para Super NES de Pop'n TwinBee. Existe una versión coloreada de este juego incluida en el recopilatorio Konami GB Collection Vol. 2 en Japón y Konami GB Collection Vol. 3 en Europa. También se realizó un remake, incluido en TwinBee Portable para PSP.
