It is the thirteenth mainline installment in the Ganbare Goemon series overall. Featuring gameplay similar to the Super Famicom title Ganbare Goemon 3: Shishijūrokubē no Karakuri Manji Gatame, the game presents a story where Yae has been kidnapped by the Black Ship Gang. Its release immediately followed the Nintendo 64 game of the same name. The game is set to be re-released in 2026 via the Ganbare Goemon! Daishūgō compilation.

Es la decimotercera entrega principal de la serie Ganbare Goemon en general. Con una jugabilidad similar al título de Super Famicom Ganbare Goemon 3: Shishijūrokubē no Karakuri Manji Gatame, el juego presenta una nueva historia en la que Yae ha sido secuestrada por la banda del Barco negro.​ Fue publicado inmediatamente después del título para Nintendo 64 con el mismo nombre. El juego se relanzará en 2026 a través de la compilación Ganbare Goemon! Daishūgō.​
