The titles were developed and published for the arcades, Famicom, Game Boy, Super Famicom and Sony PSP platforms. The series is centered around the titular Harry (or "Genzo Tamura" in the original Japanese), a hammer-wielding carpenter who protects his hometown of Beranme from the corrupt construction companies that mean to tear it down.

Il gioco ebbe un seguito intitolato Ganbare! Daiku no Gensan (Forza! Operaio Gen), realizzato solo per Super Famicom ma, ancora una volta, rimasto un'esclusiva del mercato nipponico. Particolarità del gioco è la sua ambientazione, le avventure di Harry si svolgono infatti per buona parte nei cantieri di una città giapponese.
